Applique & Unfinished Business

I've been working on a long-delayed green vestment set whose central image is a Tree of Life incorporated into an IHS symbol. It is in the applique/experimentation stage...

Due to several delayed orders because of my moving and work situations, the crunch time has really hit. It will be a regular sewing marathon up through the end of 2014 when I am not at my "day job" (caring for a wonderful Veteran who is dealing with severe disability). Now that I am settled in my apartment which has room enough to fit my entire sewing workshop, particularly my sewing table (!!) I hope to be more regular in updating my little site.

Time to download more audiobooks...this little seamstress is going to be burning the candle at both ends!

The New Websites are Up

The new site is up for Catholic Liturgical Vestments! My family has put so much time and energy into helping me create it and move forward with the little sewing business.

What would we do without family? :)

Also, the Silverlode Needlecraft site has a new look...much simpler, and strictly for the fabric art. I will be working on a gallery of the Irish dance dresses in the coming time.

A fond farewell to the old sewing workshop...

Today is another adventure.

After living and working in my little mobile home in Ashland for the past (nearly) six years, we've decided it is finally time to sell the little place, in order to help support my little sewing work.

It's been a blessing to be here over these years, and I will be back (in Ashland), but for the coming year or so the little seamstress will be working & living up in her old town of Salem :) surrounded by dear friends who have been so supportive of the work...as is my family, who has helped me more than i can ever say!

So, with a car jam-packed with sewing supplies, I'm hitting the road with a grateful heart, hoping that the next owner of the little place will find happiness there too.

New liturgical vestment website coming soon!

Thanks to my amazing mom, my new liturgical vestment website will finally be ready to view in a week! I'll still have the current Silverlode site, but it will be focused on other sewing work.

You can find the new site here...

To be up & running February 5! :)

A work in progress...

It is hard not to fall in love with the color red all over again, when working with such a beautiful fabric! The chasuble of this set will be coming together today, and then I'll begin work on the stole.

A new red vestment set...

It is such a joy to see the artistry that goes into the beautiful brocades & yarn-dyed damasks of M Perkins & Son in the UK, such as this one: this is the back side of the red "Tudor Rose" yarn-dyed brocade which is being ironed for a new red chasuble/stole set....
Amazing, rich color, and a very William Morris-inspired design!
